Chair, IRC European Championships 2024

LensFromAboveIreland made an incredible difference to the experience of sponsors, competitors, our organising committee and members of the Royal Irish Yacht Club when we hosted 3 international yacht racing championships in August and September 2024.

At the Royal Irish, we were delighted to be chosen by the Royal Ocean Racing Club to host the IRC European Championships 2024 (following upon the J-109 European Championships, the J-Cup Ireland and the Irish Cruiser Racing Association Championships) in Dublin Bay.

We had international and domestic competitors who were all champions in various prestige events during the season (including the ultimate winner in a TP52 from Hong Kong). LensFromAbove had phenomenal footage of our racing over each of the four days and relayed this footage onshore, through various social media channels and through our sponsors channels. The engagement, excitement and connectivity that this created was central to the sponsor/competitor experience at each event.

Furthermore, LensFromAboveIreland created awesome footage of our Club, our facilities, the old harbour of Dun Laoghaire and shorelines including the beauty of Dublin Bay from Howth to Dalkey and beyond. We now have this footage to promote our Club and entice more international yacht racing events to come to Dublin Bay and base themselves at the Royal Irish Yacht Club.
